● ABOUT THE SYMPOSIUM ●

The 11th International online symposium on materials in external fields (ISMEF 2022) will be held on February 15 – 16, 2022 in online format at Siberian State Industrial University, Novokuznetsk, Russia.

ISMEF 2022 continues scientific traditions, strengthen and develop international cooperation in the research area connected with surface treatment technologies, problems of strength, plasticity, the effect of external processing and influences (modification, surfacing, irradiation, etc.) on the structure and properties of materials, problems of materials operation in extreme conditions.

At present, thanks to the results of many scientific conferences, seminars and symposia, the influence of external energy on the strength and plasticity of various materials has been proven. The development of new methods and theories improving the structure and properties of materials surfaces and alloys is of great importance. Obtained methods, theories and processes meet the requirements of the priority areas of science and technology worldwide.

Previous 10 scientific events were held in China, Russia, United Kingdom and South Korea.

2007

Tsinghua Shenzhen International Graduate School in China hosted the first Chinese – Russian Symposium on Electroplastic Effects in Metals. The main purpose of the symposium was to exchange experience in the field of influence of magnetic and electric fields on the structure and phase composition of various metals and alloys under deformation.

2009

The 2nd International Conference on Electromagnetic Fields Effects on the Structure and Characteristics of Materials was held. The conference was dedicated to influence of electric and magnetic fields and currents on the structure and composition of various metals.

2010

The China – Russia 3rd International Conference on Fundamental and Applied Aspects of External Fields Action on Materials was held at Tsinghua Shenzhen International Graduate School, Shenzhen, P.R. China on 26-28 May 2010. As a prolongation of two previous conferences, this one is devoted to the topic of elctro-magnetic field action on the strength and plasticity of metals and alloys.

2013

International Seminar on the Development of Advanced Materials and Processing Technology for Energy Saving Application took place on the basis of the Institute of Strength Physics and Materials Science of Siberian Branch of Russian Academy of Sciences, Tomsk, Russia.

2014

International Seminar on External Fields Processing and Treatment Technology and Preparation of Nanostructure of Metals and Alloys was organized in Novokuznetsk at SibSIU. The seminar was devoted to the problems of external energy influences on the structure, phase composition and defect substructure of various metals and alloys.

2015

The 6th International Russian-China Conference on Effect of External Influences on the Strength and Plasticity of Metals and Alloys was hosted by Altai State Technical University from 15th to 20th September 2015 in Barnaul, Russia.

2016

The 7th International Symposium on Materials in External Fields (ISMEF 2016) was held in London, UK from 22nd to 23rd September 2016. The problems of corrosion, separation, structural evolution and other hot topics were discussed. It was organized by Professor Rongshan Qin from The Open University and Imperial College London at UK. The most significant scientific and technology progress on materials in external fields was considered. This included the fabrication of materials using electric, magnetic, ultrasonic and microwave fields, and material behaviors under those physical fields.

2017

The 8th International Symposium on Materials in External Fields (ISMEF 2017) was organized at University of Science and Technology Beijing (USTB), Beijing, China, on September 21-23, 2017.

2018

The 9th International Symposium on Materials in External fields (ISMEF 2018) was hosted by Prof. Heung Nam Han at Seoul National University Seoul, South Korea on September 2-4, 2018.

2021

International Scientific and Practical Conference on Problems of Strength and Plasticity of Materials in Conditions of External Energy Impacts took place in March 2021. The conference was held at Siberian State Industrial University, Novokuznetsk (Russia) in online format due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

2022

The 11th International Scientific and Practical Symposium on Problems of Strength and Plasticity of Materials in Conditions of External Energy Impacts will took place on February 15-16 2022 at Siberian State Industrial University, Novokuznetsk (Russia) in online format due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Representatives from enterprises of the real sector of economy are invited to the symposium. They will discuss the actual applied problems that require solutions in cooperation with the scientific community. Manufacturers of analytical, technological and test equipment, developers of CAD and CAE software systems will attend the symposium and present the material which will be practical interest to the symposium participants.
